ANAHEIM, Calif. — In less than 48 hours, Disneyland guests fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can ditch their face masks whether they’re indoors or outside, park officials announced Tuesday afternoon.
The policy tweak is being implemented after California’s statewide indoor mask mandate expired Tuesday, KTTV reported.
Indoor settings affected by the relaxed requirement include eateries, stores and attractions, the Los Angeles Times reported, noting that Disney representatives confirmed that park employees will not be checking guests’ vaccination status.
Some restrictions will remain in place, however, with face coverings still required indoors for unvaccinated guests and for all guests aged 2 and older “in certain indoor settings including Disney shuttles and in health settings, such as in First Aid,” KTTV reported.
Meanwhile, face coverings will now be optional for all guests in outdoor areas, the Times reported.
According to the newspaper, the resort, which includes Disneyland and California Adventure Park, has required masks for visiting indoor shops and rides since June.
The same update on the mask requirement for vaccinated guests applies to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, KTTV reported.
