To qualify for the freebies, guests will need to have gotten at least one dose of any of the COVID-19 vaccines available nationwide.

The offer, which can be redeemed at participating locations in the U.S., is available for in-store and drive-thru customers. It is not available through online ordering or delivery.

“We all hoped we’d be near the end of this pandemic by now,” Dave Skena, chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme, said Wednesday in a statement. “We’re not. So, please consider getting vaccinated if you’ve not done so already. And then enjoy and share two amazing doughnuts with our heart-felt thanks.”

People who are not vaccinated are not eligible for the giveaway, though they will be able to purchase original glazed heart doughnuts between Aug. 30 and Sept. 5.

“We understand that choosing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine is a highly personal decision,” Krispy Kreme officials said on the company’s website. “We advise all employees and guests to consult with their healthcare provider regarding whether to obtain a COVID-19 vaccination and which vaccine to receive after viewing the available information.”

The amped-up giveaway was announced days after regulators gave full approval to Pfizer and BioNTech for use of their COVID-19 vaccine in people aged 16 and older.
