Snoop Dogg is branching out and growing his brand with a new children’s cartoon series on YouTube.
The rapper and entrepreneur is launching “Doggyland - Kids Songs & Nursery Rhymes,” CNN reported.
He’s partnered with Claude Books, an Emmy-nominated creator of Hip Hop Harry, and October London, a singer/songwriter, NME reported.
Snoop Dogg is not only creating the show, he is also lending his signature voice to the main character., Bow Wizzle, the adult mentor to the rest of the cast comprising dogs who teach kids up to the age of 8 about social and emotional skills using dancing and singing.
The characters include:
- Wags, who cheers his friends on.
- Yap Yap, a high-spirited character who has a positive and cheery personality.
- Chow Wow, a team player with empathy.
- Barks-A-Locks, a curious pup looking for new adventures.
“As a father, grandfather and longtime youth football coach, it’s always been important to me to build positive and educational environments for all children. We wanted to bring our show to YouTube and YouTube Kids which provides free access to everyone, so all the kids can enjoy it,” Snoop Dogg said about the show, according to CNN.
With the first four episodes of the show, Snopp Dogg has also released an accompanying album under the same name, which is already available for streaming. New television episodes will be released Tuesdays on YouTube and YouTube Kids.
This isn’t the first foray of Snoop Dogg in courting young fans. Earlier this month, he introduced a gluten-free breakfast cereal called “Snoop Loopz,” with fellow rapper Master P, CNN and NME reported.
