The mother of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was involved in an auto accident on Wednesday, the professional wrestler-turned-actor shared on social media.
Johnson, 50, a former WWF heavyweight champion, posted a photo on his Instagram account, stating that his mother, 74-year-old Ata Johnson, was in the red Cadillac Escalade that was involved in a wreck on Wednesday, Entertainment Tonight reported.
“Angels of mercy watched over my mom as she was in a car crash late last night,” Johnson wrote on Instagram. “She’ll survive and continue to get evaluated.”
“This woman has survived lung cancer, tough marriage, head-on collision with a drunk driver and attempted suicide,” Dwayne Johnson wrote. “She’s a survivor, in ways that make angels and miracles real.”
Johnson did not provide specifics about his mother’s accident but thanked the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department for “being so caring and focused,” People reported.

In December 2021, Johnson surprised his mother with a Cadillac SUV. That was not the vehicle involved in Wednesday’s crash, Entertainment Tonight reported.
“I got one parent left, so if you still got your mom and dad make sure you hug ‘em hard, cos you never know when you’ll get that 3 a.m. call we never want to get,” Johnson wrote.
