ESPN is trying to fill the void of not having professional sports.
The network is going to change to “ESPN 8: The Ocho” Saturday to showcase events like marble runs, cherry pit spitting and “Stupid Robot Fighting League."
There will be 11 hours worth of content, kicking off with Thor Bjornsson’s attempt at a world record dead lift. Bjornsson is best known outside of dead lifting circles as The Mountain from “Game of Thrones.”
He will be doing the dead lift live at noon ET from Reykjavik, Iceland. The current record is held by Eddie “The Beast” Hall who lifted 1,102 pounds on July 9, 2016, in Leeds, England.
This is the fifth time ESPN has been rebranded as “The Ocho." The inspiration came from the movie “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.”
