WALTERBORO, S.C. — A father and daughter who were spending the day hunting together were killed after officials said they were mistaken for deer.
Colleton County, South Carolina, Coroner Richard Harvey said Kim Drawdy, 30, and Lauren Drawdy, 9, were shot and killed in a wooded area of the county, WCBD reported.
SCDNR is investigating a hunting incident that resulted in two fatalities in Colleton County. The incident took place at approximately 2:30 Wednesday afternoon off Barracada Road.

The father and daughter were with two other hunters deer driving, or moving deer to an area in which they intended to hunt, when they were shot, WCSC reported.
The shooting happened on the last day of hunting season, in woods behind the family’s home, WCBD reported.
