Florida man claims to be Jesus, kisses juvenile in locker room, police say

CLEARWATER, Fla. — A Florida man is accused of trapping a juvenile in a locker room and kissing him without his consent, authorities said.

James Trevor Byron Thompson, 39, of Dunedin, was arrested Monday and charged with simple battery and false imprisonment, according to Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office online booking records.

According to an arrest affidavit, Thompson also told the victim he was Jesus Christ in another life, WFLA-TV reported.

The Clearwater Police Department said Thompson approached the victim at a Clearwater Crunch Fitness Center and began talking to the juvenile about love and being a vegan, according to the television station.

When the victim tried to leave, Thompson allegedly used his body to block his path and prevented him from leaving the locker room, according to the affidavit.

Police said Thompson also gave the victim an unwanted kiss and attempted to hug him, WFLA reported.

Thompson was arrested and posted $4,000 bail early Tuesday, online records show.
