MIAMI, Fla. — A Florida woman with the same name as the late rapper, Tupac Shakur, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly attacking a man with a baseball bat in Miami-Dade County.
Tupac Amaru Shakur, 34, has been arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a person over the age of 65, according to jail records obtained by WTVJ.
According to WTVJ, the incident happened on Tuesday on a bench outside Hialeah Hospital. In an arrest report obtained by WTVJ, the victim was sitting on a bench when Shakur allegedly came up and started to hit him with a baseball bat.
The victim was able to get a hold of the bat and Shakur ran off into the hospital, according to WTVJ. The victim sustained a few cuts from the attack.
\When Shakur got into the hospital, she allegedly told security a man was hitting her with a bat, according to WTVJ. Security cameras captured the incident and it was allegedly the other way around.
Shakur is being held on a $10,000 bond, according to WFLA.
According to WFLA, Wednesday marked the 26th anniversary of the day that the late rapper, Tupac Shakur, was shot. He was sitting inside a car in Las Vegas. He died six days later on September 13 at the age of 25.
