MACON, Ga. — A woman from Georgia may have saved a man’s life in California, but they’ve never actually met face-to-face.
Alex Griswold from California posted a video on TikTok showing a mole on his back. Lizzie Wells, from Macon, noticed that it looked irregular. She messaged him, warning him it could be cancerous.
Wells is a melanoma survivor.
"Now with the help of social media, we were actually able to save a life and so I was really, really happy,” Wells said.
The man got it checked out and doctors told him it needed to be removed.
Griswold said doctors said the mole was "heading toward melanoma.” He later had the mole removed.
Griswold said the experience reminded him that the world is a wonderful place.
‘Good Morning America’ talked with Wells about the discovery.
