Happy birthday, Prince George! New photo marks royal’s 9th birthday

The eldest child of Britain’s Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, turned 9 on Friday.

Kensington Palace tweeted a new photo of the adorable royal Thursday. The duchess, formerly known as Kate Middleton, snapped the picture, according to People magazine and CNN.

Other members of the royal family also took to social media to share well-wishes for the prince.

“Happy 9th Birthday to Prince George!” read a tweet from George’s grandfather, Prince Charles, and wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

“Wishing a very Happy 9th Birthday to Prince George!” Queen Elizabeth II’s official Twitter account wrote alongside a photo of the youngster with his great-grandmother.
