CLEVELAND — Two people were injured in a fire at a Cleveland home when a person who had been cooking fell asleep, authorities said Saturday.
Firefighters were called to a residence at about 9:25 a.m. according to the Cleveland Division of Fire. Responders encountered a heavy amount of smoke coming from the first floor of the residence, WJW reported.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire, the television station reported.
According to a report, a resident of the home was cooking but then fell asleep, WJW reported.
Two people were taken to an area hospital, the television station reported. One person was treated for smoke inhalation and a cut on his arm, according to WJW.
Fire officials called the blaze accidental, the television station reported.
