Hunky animal shelter employee accidentally hijacks pet adoption post responses

WICHITA FALLS, Texas — It only took Sky about an hour to find a forever home, and she owes it all to Wichita Falls Animal Services employee Zackry Majewski.

Majewski said he thought nothing of posing with the pup to post on the animal shelter’s Facebook page in a bid to help the husky find a home, but he was in no way prepared for the social media frenzy the photo created.

“I don’t even have Facebook. People called me into the office, like my boss, and she was telling me, ‘It’s blowing up right now,” and then it just kind of increased throughout the day,” Majewski told KAUZ.

“I got over a hundred people on my Snapchat adding me and Instagram and all that stuff. It was crazy,” Majewski added.

Despite the dynamic duo’s photogenic charisma, the post writer’s wit might have had a little something to do with Majewski’s newfound fame.

“Zackry Majewski started with us in October of 2020. He has a great compassion for the animals in our care. He is especially fond of Huskies and can always be found snuggling with a puppy in the shelter. On his time off Zac enjoys hiking and listening to Country Music,” the post reads.

While the shelter fielded hundreds of calls from people across the country wanting to adopt their available pets after the post, many Facebook commenters seemed more smitten with Majewski than with his four-legged friend.

“What’s the adoption fee for Zac? Is he house trained?” one commenter asked, while another joked, “Wait?! There’s a dog in the picture?” People magazine reported.

Majewski has taken the spotlight in stride, admitting to KAUZ that even though modeling is not on his short list for career options, he plans to continue working outside his comfort zone if it helps animals like Sky find homes.

“’A lot of people want me to [model], and it’s just not something I like to do, but, if it helps animals get adopted, then I will,” Majewski told the TV station.

“It got Sky adopted in like an hour yesterday, and we had over a hundred calls on her so, it was pretty great,” he added.
