iPhone, iPad users told to update now to block hackers

If you have an iPhone or iPad, Apple says the operating system needs updating ASAP.

The reason: Security flaws could have allowed the devices to be hacked, CNN reported.

The company said there are three security issues.

Two involve WebKit, an open-source engine for Safari and iOS browsers, in which “a remote attacker may be able to cause arbitrary code execution.”

The third issue is part of an exploit chain that would need a hacker to find other bugs to make it executable, CNN reported.

The update is for iOS 14.4. To get the download, go to settings, then general, then software update, USA Today reported.

It also fixes keyboard issues, the Fitness app, and allows phones to process smaller QR codes, USA Today reported.
