Basketball stars Kevin Love and Giannis Antetokounmpo have each made separate $100,000 donations to help support arena staff in Cleveland and Milwaukee.
The NBA season has been canceled for the time being, and performers are postponing or canceling tour dates amid fears of the spreading coronavirus, leaving arena staff without work and a paycheck.
Antetokounmpo said Friday on social media he made the donation to Fiserv Forum staff to “help the people that make my life, my family’s lives and my teammates’ lives easier.”
It’s bigger than basketball! And during this tough time I want to help the people that make my life, my family’s lives and my teammates lives easier. Me and my family pledge to donate $100,000 to the Fiserv Forum staff. We can get through this together! 🙏🏽
