The choir director, Mindy Forehand, shared a video on Facebook that showed Chris Tucker walking in and greeting students. She said in her post the Chris Tucker Foundation saw them on Channel 2 Action News and brought the choir a check to cover the rest of their Carnegie Hall performance balance.
Last week, the choir was $16,000 short of their goal, with only a few days to raise the money. On Wednesday, April 13, Tucker surprised the members at school and paid the remaining balance for their New York City performance.

The choir’s performance is set for June, and they have spent the last two years rehearsing and raising money to pay for the trip.
Now, thanks to Tucker, the full balance is paid and the kids are New York City bound!
