Macy’s has added an additional 45 locations to its list of store closures.
A spokeswoman told CNBC that the company will be focusing on helping existing locations in “desirable and well-trafficked A and B malls” as it continues its process of “rightsizing” the business.
Liquidation has started or will start in January.
Last February, Macy’s had announced the closure of 125 stores, USA Today reported at the time.
Currently, the company runs 544 Macy’s stores, 34 Bloomingdales, 19 Bloomingdale’s outlets and 166 Bluemercury locations.
A list of the affected locations has not been released.
