Man accused of having meth in pocket after stealing car, police say

DOUGLAS CO., Mo. — A Missouri man is accused of possessing methamphetamine after police stopped him for an alleged vehicle theft, authorities said.

According to Missouri online court records, Alexander Blake Hall, 31, of Mountain Grove, was charged with one count of first-degree burglary, one count of stealing a motor vehicle, one count of first-degree property damage to a motor vehicle with intent to steal, one count of possession of a controlled substance, and one count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hall was arrested on April 5 with 7.51 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a snorting straw and 12 clear and unused small baggies, according to a Facebook post by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies initially responded to a crash in the eastern part of Douglas County, KOLR-TV reported. Approximately 30 minutes later, the sheriff’s office received a call from a woman who reported that her Chevrolet Camaro was missing, according to the television station.

Another caller told deputies that the Camaro had been seen on a highway with a flat tire.

Deputies responded and Hall was arrested, the sheriff’s office said.

“The suspect claimed the vehicle belonged to a family member and believed that the house he stole the Camaro from was ‘Grandma’s house,’” according to the sheriff’s office.

Upon arresting Hall, Deputy Aaron Box said he located a box in the suspect’s pocket that allegedly contained the narcotics and drug paraphernalia, the sheriff’s office said.

Hall was arraigned on April 6 and bail was set at $25,000, online court records show. A bond reduction hearing is set for April 20, records show.
