TOMS RIVER, N.J. — A New Jersey man said he intentionally ran over a flock of geese in a New Jersey parking lot, killing them.
Quintin Alec-Manning, 22, pleaded guilty Monday to animal cruelty, NJ.com reported.
Police found the geese in the parking lot of Indian Head Plaza in Toms River on May 29, 2019, the Asbury Park Press reported. A photo of the dead birds was shared on a Facebook community page, NJ.com reported.
Commenters called for an investigation and police said they had spoken to witnesses and shop owners.
The day after the incident, police arrested Alec-Manning.
He faces 90 days in Ocean Jail and will be required to perform community service. He may also be prohibited from ever working with or owning an animal, the prosecutor’s office said, according to NJ.com.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in May.
