SALEM, Ore. — A nurse in Oregon who boasted about her defiance of coronavirus restrictions on social media is no longer working for the hospital system where she was employed.
Ashley Grames is seen in a video wearing scrubs with a stethoscope around her neck, and a caption reading, “When my coworkers find out I still travel, don’t wear a mask when I am out, and let my kids have playdates,” CNN reported.
Salem Health said on social media Grames was was put on administrative leave shortly after the video was posted Nov. 27. The widely-viewed video has since been removed.
The video “displayed cavalier disregard for the seriousness of this pandemic and her indifference towards physical distancing and masking outside of work,” the hospital said on social media.

The hospital did not indicate whether Grames was fired, resigned or quit.
“We do not publicly discuss personnel decisions,” a hospital spokesperson told CNN.
Grames said on social media she was not fired by the health care company. She said she is focusing on the next chapter in her life, which includes going back to school.
“I would like to set the record straight, I was not terminated; I took a leave of absence,” Grames said.

Salem Health employs 5,200 people, CNN reported. There are currently 47 staff members in quarantine and 176 have tested positive.
