SAN ANTONIO — An off-duty police officer for the San Antonio Police Department was shot on Saturday night in what authorities called a road rage incident.
Police responded to a report of a shooting at about 9:13 p.m. CDT, KSAT-TV reported.
The 47-year-old police officer and his 16-year-old son were driving home when a vehicle began tailgating them, according to KENS-TV.

According to police, the car following the officer passed him, and someone in the vehicle fired several rounds before driving away, WOAI-TV reported. The off-duty officer, an 18-year veteran of the force, did not return fire, according to the television station.
The officer was taken to an area hospital and was in stable condition, KSAT reported. The teen was not injured, according to the television station.
Police found shell casings on the road and shut down the roadway while they conducted their investigation, KENS reported.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
