OREGON CITY, Ore. — An Oregon man is accused of groping a woman while she stood in the checkout line of a Dollar Tree store, authorities said.
Lucas Hoffman Knight, 26, was arrested Thursday and charged with third-degree assault, second-degree criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, according to Clackamas County online booking records.
Just before noon, authorities received a 911 call from a woman who claimed she had been sexually assaulted at the Dollar Tree store in Oregon City, KPTV reported.
The victim told police she confronted Knight, who fled the store on foot, the television station reported.
Detectives determined that Knight had “intentionally and maliciously groped” the victim, according to a police report.
Authorities located Knight a short time later, KATU reported. According to police, Knight fled and was pursued on foot by officers, the television station.
After running along railroad tracks and crossing lanes of Interstate 205, Knight was eventually stopped and taken into custody without further incident, KPTV reported.
