“Our family would like to express so much gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love and support leading up to Ozzy’s surgery!” Sharon Osbourne, 69, tweeted Tuesday afternoon. “Ozzy is doing well and on the road to recovery! Your love means the world to him.”

The update came days after she announced on Britain’s “The Talk” that the heavy metal icon was slated to have “a very major operation” Monday, according to “Entertainment Tonight” and Fox News.

“It’s really going to determine the rest of his life,” the TV personality said on the show, adding that she would be in Los Angeles to support the 73-year-old former Black Sabbath singer.

Sharon Osbourne did not reveal any additional information about the operation; however, her husband, who was hurt in a quad bike crash in 2003, told Classic Rock magazine last month that he was “waiting on some more surgery on my neck.” He added that he undergoes daily physical therapy and has trouble walking, according to the magazine.
