PHOENIX — Parents who bought a Glo Worm toy for their daughter at a thrift store Friday were shocked to find it filled with 5,000 fentanyl pills, police said.
Phoenix police said that after buying the toy, the family brought it home and washed it before they were going to let their daughter play with it. That’s when they looked inside to install batteries and found a sandwich bag filled with 5,000 pills believed to be fentanyl, KPHO reported.
The family called police and turned in the drugs.
“Remember, please inspect all opened and used items for your family’s safety,” the agency said on social media.
