RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh, North Carolina-based exterminator is searching for families to receive $2,000 each if they are willing to welcome 100 special guests into their homes.
In a bid to test a “specific pest control technique,” The Pest Informer is looking for five to seven homeowners to participate in a small study to help the company “gauge how effective” their new treatment is, WDRB reported.
According to the application, available on ThePestInformer.com, households across the United States are eligible to participate, and as many as seven homes will be selected for the 30-day cockroach elimination trial, WRAL-TV reported.
Per The Pest Informer, a traditional eradication method will be deployed at no cost to the household should the experimental treatment fail to eliminate the doomed houseguests within the 30-day period.
Applicants must be U.S. residents; 21 or older; own their own home, or have written approval from the owner; provide permission to film the process; and agree to not use any other exterminator services throughout the 30-day test, WDRB reported.
The experimental treatment is billed by The Pest Informer as safe for both families and pets.
