In a news release, the Owensboro Police Department said that in February, investigators received information that Discount Motors had been reportedly been rolling back odometers on cars before they resold them.

Police say investigators looked into the complaint and found that the owner, Eddie Howard, and salesman Donald Adams were reportedly involved in the fraud, according to WFIE.

On Thursday, investigators executed a search warrant at Discount Motors and seized about $350,000 in cash, three guns, about 100 oxycodone pills, two cars, and electronic devices believed to have been used in the fraud, according to the news outlet.

Howard, 63, and Adams, 60, were both arrested. They have been charged with first-degree trafficking in controlled substances, 20 counts of tampering with motor vehicle/motor home odometer, and prescription controlled substance not proper container, according to police.

Police said that both men have previous criminal records.
