Butterball and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service have announced a recall of more than 14,000 pounds of ground turkey.
The recall was issued because the turkey could be contaminated with blue plastic, the FSIS announced.
The ground turkey was produced on Sept. 28, 2021, and include:
- 2.5-lb. trays of “Farm to Family” Butterball all-natural ground turkey with case code 50211271 with a sell or freeze by date of 10/18/2021 and timestamps of 2123 through 2302 on the packaging.
- 3-lb. trays of Kroger ground turkey with case code 50211271 with a sell or freeze by date of 10/17/2021 and timestamps 2314 through 2351.
The packages have establishment number EST. P-7345 inside the USDA inspection mark.
If you have the recalled ground turkey, you should either throw it away or return it to the store from which it was purchased, FSIS said.
