Tesla has announced another recall of its vehicles.
The electric car manufacturer has recalled more than 578,600 vehicles because pedestrians may not hear the cars if a warning sound is obscured, Reuters reported.
Some 2020 through 2022 Model S, Model X, Model Y, and 2017 through 2022 Model 3, vehicles are affected.
The vehicles’ “boombox function” allows drivers to play music through an external speaker while the car is moving, Reuters reported.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the vehicles do not meet federal rules for the minimum sound requirements for electric vehicles.
This is the fourth recall issued for Tesla over the past two weeks, The Associated Press reported. It’s issued 10 over the past four months, Reuters reported.
Some of the recalls were corrected by software upgrades, while others were for violating federal motor vehicle safety standards, the AP reported.
The boombox issue will be fixed by an over-the-air software update that will disable the option, the AP reported.
