The recall involves 2019 through 2021 Model 3 vehicles, and 2020 and 2021 Model Y vehicles, Reuters reported.

The bolts that are used on brake calipers can come loose and could cause a loss of tire pressure if the caliper would separate and come in contact with the wheel rim.

The company was made aware of the issue in December but issued the recall Wednesday.

It also has taken steps to prevent the bolts’ loosening during assembly, Reuters reported.

The company will check and tighten or replace the bolts as needed at no cost, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents. A date for when it will start has not been released.
