Peanut butter purists, rejoice!
Reese’s announced Monday that an entirely chocolate-free peanut butter cup will hit shelves in April.
The announcement coincided with National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day and means the eagerly anticipated Reese’s Ultimate Peanut Butter Lovers Cups will replace the traditional snack’s chocolate coating with a hardened coating of peanut butter, People reported.
“While launching a Reese’s Cup with absolutely no chocolate might come as a shock, we’re giving the truest peanut butter fans something to go wild about,” Reese’s brand Margo McIlvaine said in a news release.
“The frenzy that comes with changing an icon like the Reese’s Cup is real, but you can still enjoy the classic plus get more peanut butter flavor with a new option that’s every peanut butter lover’s dream!” McIlvaine stated.
According to USA Today, the Hershey Co. did note that the new offering will be available in standard, king size and miniature forms, but only for a limited time.
