A Target employee is accused of stealing more than $13,000 in cash from registers at stores in Connecticut, authorities said.
According to a news release from the South Windsor Police Department, Jorge L. Rivera-Martinez, 23, of East Hartford, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with second-degree larceny, police said. He surrendered at police headquarters, authorities said.
An investigation revealed that Rivera-Martinez allegedly stole approximately $13,500 from Target between December 2022 and January 2023.
Police did not specify which store Rivera-Martinez worked at, or whether the thefts occurred at one store or at several.
Rivera-Martinez was released after posting $15,000 bail, police said.
He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on April 19, the news release stated.
