DALLAS — Police in Dallas arrested a man accused of killing a woman who beat him in a pickup game of basketball earlier this month.
Cameron Hogg, 31, was charged Thursday for the murder of 21-year-old Asia Womack, who died after being shot several times on Oct. 4, according to KDFW-TV.
Police issued a warrant for the arrest of Hogg days after police found Womack on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds.
According to KDFW, her family said Womack was playing basketball in the park against Hogg. After losing the game, he reportedly took his kids and brother home and returned to shoot Womack at least five times. She later died at a hospital.
The victim’s family told People that Hogg was a friend and played on her James Madison High School basketball team. Her family said that Hogg was upset after losing the game and shot her out of anger.
“This was supposed to be a friend of Asia’s. She’s eaten with the man. She’s fed him, and he turned on her and killed her in a vicious way,” Asia’s mother, Andrea Womack, told KDFW.
