The animal was running wild on westbound Interstate 40 near Farragut, west of Knoxville, on Wednesday, WATE-TV reported.

According to a tweet by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the trooper did not have a rope to subdue the pig, but he managed to hog-tie it by using a tape measure.

“Trooper Coker saved a pig that was running loose on the interstate,” the highway patrol tweeted. “No lasso, no problem.”

After tying up some loose ends, the trooper took the pig to safety.

Mark Nagi, a spokesperson with the Tennessee Department of Transportation, told WATE that the pig’s name was “Calhoun.”
