The video, which was posted on a TikTok account over the weekend, shows a car swerve off Interstate 83 near the Belfast Road exit, WJZ reported.

As the people filming the incident scream in horror, the car passes between the posts holding up the highway exit sign before hitting a patch of dirt and going airborne.

“He just ran off the road,” a woman yells. “He just crashed in a ditch in the river next to us.”

According to the Maryland State Police, the driver was not hurt and refused treatment at the scene. He was cited for several traffic violations, including driving under the influence, WJZ reported.

“The driver in this case was very lucky that he walked away without any injuries, even luckier that no one else was injured,” Maryland State Police spokesperson Ron Snyder said. “This was in the middle of the day on a weekend … Anyone could have been injured, and this could have been a lot worse than it really was.”
