Woman found shot to death in her car

HOUSTON — Police were called to an apartment complex Friday morning after a woman was found shot inside a car in Houston, Texas.

In a tweet, the Houston Police Department confirmed that a woman was found dead with apparent gunshot wounds inside a car just after 7 a.m.

The woman, 19, was reportedly found by a neighbor at an apartment complex located near Nobility Drive and West Bellfot, according to KHOU.

The neighbor told the news outlet that she was concerned about the woman so she tried to knock on the door but then noticed she had been shot. Bullet holes were reportedly seen in the car’s windshield.

Investigators believe that the woman may have been shot Thursday night between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., according to KTRK. Investigators say residents heard gunshots but reportedly didn’t think much of it until the next morning when the woman’s body was found.

The news outlet said the apartment complex did not recognize the woman or the car she was found in.

Police have not released the identity of the woman, according to KHOU.

Information about any suspect or suspects and motive has not yet been released.
