ATHENS, Ga. — For the first time in 14 years, the University of Georgia men’s basketball team earned a spot in the Associated Press top 25 rankings.
The Bulldogs were voted No. 23 in this week’s poll. It’s their first appearance since they were ranked No. 24 for a week in Jan. 2011.

Mike White and UGA have started off the season with 14-2 record, including ranked wins over then-No. 6 Kentucky and then-No. 17 Oklahoma. It was the first time since 2006-07 season that Georgia knocked off ranked teams in back-to-back games.
The jump into the top 25 comes ahead of their big week in conference play. Georgia travels to No. 6 Tennessee on Wednesday night and hosts No. 1 Auburn on Saturday at Stegeman Coliseum.
