“I only can compare this to when the Braves won,” said Antoine Davis, logistics manager at Academy Sports in Kennesaw.
Local schools are joining in on the rush for Bulldogs gear to make sure students go to school ready for game day.
“We got a text from the school saying please wear and sport your Georgia team so we’re here,” said Tiffany McQueen, who was at Academy Sports looking for Bulldogs T-shirts with her daughter.
If Georgia wins, Academy Sports will have championship gear and stay open late.

Sports bars in metro Atlanta are preparing for large crowds as well.
“We’re going to be busy. It’s going to be slammed,” said Ryan Costello, general manager of Big Sky Buckhead. “I would think we’ll probably have around 400 or 500 people.”
Big Sky Buckhead is usually closed on Monday, but game day is an exception.

“We’re throwing a party,” Costello said. “We do recommend folks wear a mask. We do sanitize tables, it’s based on individual preference, though. We open at 6 p.m. so I would say get here at 5:45 p.m.”
