Kemp issued a proclamation on Saturday to call Monday, “Hunker Down Day” throughout the state. He’s asking Georgia residents to wear red and black as their statement of support for the state’s largest university. There’s nothing in the proclamation stating that fans of Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State or the other state schools with football programs have to actually do this--it’s only a request.

Monday should be an interesting day as Georgia’s 2022 legislative session is scheduled to begin in the morning. With a large percentage of state representatives and senators backing the Bulldogs, it’s not yet known how long day one of the session will actually last.

If you are planning to participate, you may need your favorite Bulldogs sweater or jacket too, Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Eboni Deon said. Monday’s high temperature in the metro Atlanta area will only come close to reaching 50.
