UGA’s David Pollack selected for College Football Hall of Fame

ATLANTA — Another University of Georgia great is heading to the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

Former defensive end David Pollack learned Wednesday that he will be a member of the 2020 class. Pollack will be inducted by the National Football Foundation during a Dec. 8 ceremony in New York.

Pollack learned about his selection during a segment on SportsCenter. His family surprised him moments later:

Pollack is a Gwinnett County native and played at Shiloh High School in Snellville. He decided to stay close to home and earned many accolades during his time in Athens.

The former defensive end won the Bednarik Award, Rotary Lombardi Award and Lott IMPACT Trophy in his senior year. The SEC named him the 2020 SEC Player of the Year and 2004 SEC Defensive Player of the Year.
