PITTSBURGH — Freddie Freeman isn’t just an All-Star on the field. It’s his actions besides his offense and Gold Glove defense that makes him one of the most beloved players in baseball.
Freeman once again showed how much he cares about the fans during Tuesday’s road game with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, a Pirates foul ball went into the crowd and it appeared to ricochet and hit a young fan sitting with her family. Freeman noticed what happened in the stands and walked over.
Freeman hands the girl his batting gloves, gave her a pat on the back and a low five in a sweet moment captured by the broadcast crews.
Freeman is known for his acts of kindness like the one he displayed Tuesday night.
Earlier this season, Freeman surprised a young Phillies fan who shared Freeman’s home run baseball with a young Braves fan wearing his jersey.
In return for his selfless act, Joshua got an autographed baseball from Freeman.

The Braves finish up their series with the Pirates on Wednesday before they head to Miami for weekend series with the Marlins.
Freeman will start at first base for the National League in next week’s MLB All-Star Game in Denver. Teammates Ronald Acuna Jr. will start in the outfield and Ozzie Albies will be on the reserves list.
