Season over: Hawks lose Game 6 to Milwaukee ending a Cinderella season

ATLANTA — If you had asked Atlanta Hawks owner Tony Ressler or nearly anyone else associated with the team if they’d be happy to make the NBA Playoffs, they would have answered “yes”.

If you had asked them about their chances of making it to the Eastern Conference Finals, they may well have laughed.

Well, the young and gritty Hawks surprised almost everyone involved with the game including themselves by not only making the playoffs but making a run towards a potential championship.

Luck, and time ran out on the young Atlanta team as they lost in front of a standing room only crowd at State Farm Arena 118 to 107.

Injuries and the wear and tear of two previously tough series caught up with Atlanta as Milwaukee, even without star Giannis Antetokounmpo managed to put together a strong team effort to grab the series clinching win on the road.
