ATLANTA — The Atlanta Falcons have shut down their facility after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. This is the second time since October the team has made the move following a positive test.
The Falcons are scheduled to play the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Broncos GM and president of operations John Elway tested positive earlier this week. At this time, there is no change to the status of the game.
Channel 2 Sports Director Zach Klein said the Falcons will host virtual sessions to prepare for the game.
“Contact tracing protocols have commenced and the team has returned to the league’s intensive protocols. This decision was made in consultation with the NFL and medical officials and does not affect the status of Sunday’s game. The health and safety of our team is our highest priority," the team said in a statement.
