ATLANTA — While not overrun with NFL players who have a Georgia connection, the upcoming NFL Pro Bowl roster will have several current and former standouts sprinkled in.
Two Atlanta Falcons were chosen to play in the game. Neither of them play a marquee position, but both have played a big hand in their teams success.
Guard Chris Lindstrom and and WR/Special Teams star KhaDarel Hodge were picked to play for the NFC in the game scheduled to take place at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, the week before the NFL Super Bowl. The pair were told by the Falcons this morning that they needed to voice a promotion.
We told Chris and KhaDarel they had to do a script read for us…

This will be Lindstrom’s 4th Pro Bowl appearance since the Falcons drafted him in 2019. For Hodge, it’s his first NFL Post-Season accolade. The undrafted free agent was the NFL Special Teams Player of the Week after blocking a punt and deflecting another in the Falcons win over the Las Vegas Raiders. It’s his first postseason award.

Meanwhile, former UGA TE and Raiders rookie Brock Bowers got chosen for the game, as did former Bulldog and current Baltimore Raven LB Roquan Smith. Former Georgia Nose Tackle and current Philadelphia Eagle Jalen Carter also got the nod.
Digging a little deeper, former Dalton High and Georgia Tech RB Jahmyr Gibbs who finished his college career at Alabama and is the starting RB for the Detroit Lions made the NFC squad as did Alpharetta High and current Carolina Panther Jaycee Horn. And Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward was picked for the 7th time. Heyward starred for Peachtree Ridge High in Suwanee.

In the past, the Pro Bowl has been a full-on exhibition game, but the past couple of years the game has been the culmination of a week of skills competitions and a flag football game.
Peyton Manning will be your AFC coach and Eli Manning will be the NFC coach for the week which ends with the Flag Football game on Feb. 2.
The game will be shown live on Channel 2 on Sunday, Feb. 2nd with a kickoff time TBD.
