The invited candidates include current Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R) and former Georgia House Representative Stacey Abrams (D).

“There are so many high-profile issues that impact our state and voters will soon decide which candidate will lead Georgia into the future,” said Carter. “WSB-TV is committed to keeping Georgians informed and there is no better way to do it than putting these candidates face to face to go on the record about issues that could impact our state now and in the future.”

To qualify for this debate, candidates in the race for Georgia’s next governor must hit a 10% threshold from a broad cross section of respected Georgia political polls. This standard has been the benchmark for numerous political debates hosted by WSB-TV Channel 2.

The debate will also feature a group of experienced panelists asking questions on issues that matter to the people of Georgia. These panelists include: WSB-TV Political Reporter Richard Elliot, WSB-TV Community & Public Affairs Director Condace Pressley, and Univision 34 Atlanta Anchor Michelle Benitez.
