COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A Cobb County day care was evacuated Thursday afternoon after strong storms moved through the area.
The storms dumped heavy rain, causing floodwaters to rise around the Always Kids day care on Anderson Mill Road.

The road is closed between Austell Road and Brookwood Drive.
Cobb County fire crews evacuated 27 children and four adults from the day care center. Everyone is safe.
Channel 2′s Tom Regan at the scene said the water mark was about a foot or two high, and then began seeping into the day care.
Witnesses told Regan that day care workers couldn’t open the doors because of the rushing floodwaters. The witness said the day care workers were worried about the flood water causing electrical shocks inside the building with the children.
