Scattered showers, strong storms moving into metro Atlanta overnight

ATLANTA — Metro Atlanta and north Georgia can expect to see strong storms overnight Saturday and into Sunday morning.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Ashley Kramlich says you can expect to see scattered showers and a few storms around midnight.

She says a strong line of storms arrives in north Georgia early Sunday morning. That line brings with it a slight chance of damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.

Those storms are expected to bring heavy rainfall and start moving into west Georgia around 3 a.m. and push into metro Atlanta just before dawn.

Most of the rain will move out of the area by Sunday afternoon.
