Rain clears out of metro Atlanta, cooler temps for Monday afternoon

The rain for the morning commute has moved out, but the cooler temperatures are staying.

Meteorologist Brian Monahan tracked a cold front with downpours and thunder live on Channel 2 Action News This Morning.

The rain cleared around lunch time, but you will want to keep the light jacket handy.

Here’s what to know for Monday:

  • Gradual clearing this afternoon; highs in the upper 60s
  • Mostly sunny tomorrow with gusty wind returning; elevated fire danger on Tuesday
  • Warming toward the upper 70s late this week
  • Showers and storms return this weekend
