ATLANTA — Hurricane Ian will take aim at the South Carolina coast on Friday as it prepares for a final landfall.
Severe Weather Team 2 has been tracking Hurricane Ian for almost a week. As of 11 a.m., the hurricane is moving north with 85 mph winds.
Meteorologist Brian Monahan says the Category 1 hurricane is a much different storm now than it was when it made landfall in Florida. But Monahan says the impacts will still be significant in the Carolinas today.

New tropical storm warnings have been issued for parts of east Georgia along with the coastal counties: Bryan, Bulloch, Burke, Candler, Chatham, Columbia, Effingham, Evans, Jenkins, Liberty, Lincoln, Long, McDuffie, Richmond, Screven and Tattnall.

Monahan says the impacts of the hurricane will be minimal for north Georgia but there will be gusty weather for the next couple of days.
