Lingering snow and ice gradually melting, slight warm-up on the way this week

The lingering snow and ice from Friday is gradually melting.

The snowfall totals ranged from 2-3.5 inches in metro Atlanta and around 5 inches fell in the north Georgia mountains.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan says what’s left from Friday will be gone by mid-week and you can expect a nice warmup later this week.

Here’s what to know as we head throughout the week.

  • Cold front moving through with light scattered showers mainly south of I-20 this morning
  • Clearing this afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 40s
  • Cold mornings Tuesday and Wednesday morning – lows in the mid to upper 20s
  • Chilly through mid-week with highs in the mid 40s
  • Warming back into the mid 50s by late this week
  • Tracking rain to start the weekend
