ATLANTA — Parts of metro Atlanta could see strong storms with the possibility of an isolated tornado Sunday afternoon and evening.
Heavy rain began to move into metro Atlanta around 4 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Morgan, Putnam, Jasper and Newton counties until 6:15 p.m.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan said some wind gusts were up to 40 mph in some areas
There is a level 1 risk for severe storms for metro Atlanta’s southwestern-most counties. Brief tornadoes are possible in those areas.
