VERO BEACH, Fla. — For the first time since 1985, a hurricane has made landfall in the United States in the month of November.
Nicole made landfall on Vero Beach, Florida as a Category 1 on Thursday around 3 a.m. It has now been downgraded to a tropical storm.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan says Georgia will feel impacts from Nicole today and Friday.
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the entire Georgia coast. A Tornado Watch has been issued.
Monahan says the main threats for the coast are storm surge, beach erosion and heavy rain.
Here is what to know about Nicole here in metro Atlanta and north Georgia:
- 1 - 2″ of rainfall
- Wind gusts of 25-35 mph with gusts over 40 mph
- Low level risk of severe storms in some areas
